Music Making and Wellbeing Enhancement for
Older Adults

Funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation (2010-12)

Rhythm for Life aims to enhance wellbeing among older adults in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, a London Borough that has one of the largest disparities of wealth in the UK and sizeable areas of deprivation. Over the course of 2010 and 2011, participants are being offered opportunities to learn and make music in individual, small-group, and workshop settings, delivered by RCM students. The effects of their participation on health, wellbeing, and social engagement are being monitored throughout.
